Important Notice

This Acceptable Use Policy (the "AUP") governs your access to and use of the Sonolabs.ai website, subdomains, APIs, and related services (collectively, the "Services"), operated on behalf of Sonolab OÜ (doing business as "Sonolabs," "we," or "us"). This AUP is incorporated into and forms part of the Sonolabs Terms of Service (the "Terms"). Capitalized terms not defined in this AUP have the meanings given in the Terms.

The Services enable you to submit audio recordings, voice samples, text prompts, videos, and other content (collectively, "Inputs") and generate synthesized sound recordings, voice models, and other content (collectively, "Outputs"). Inputs and Outputs are part of "Your Content" as defined in the Terms.

If you have questions about this AUP, or wish to report a violation, contact support@sonolabs.ai.

1. General Rules

You may use the Services only in compliance with the Terms, this AUP, and all applicable laws and regulations. You are responsible for all activity conducted through your account, including any Inputs you submit, Outputs you generate, and any use, distribution, or sharing of Your Content.

You must not use the Services in any way that is unlawful, harmful, deceptive, abusive, or that infringes the rights of others, including intellectual property rights, privacy rights, publicity rights, or contractual rights.

2. Prohibited Content and Conduct

You may not upload, submit, generate, publish, share, distribute, or otherwise make available through the Services any content—or use the Services in any way—that:

2.1 Illegal, Harmful, or Abusive Uses

  • violates any applicable law or regulation, including laws relating to privacy, data protection, biometric data, consumer protection, fraud, or harassment;
  • is threatening, harassing, hateful, discriminatory, or abusive, or promotes violence or criminal activity;
  • is defamatory, libelous, or otherwise unlawful;
  • is deceptive or fraudulent, including scams, impersonation, or misrepresentation of origin, identity, or endorsement;
  • generate or distribute false or misleading information presented as factual where such content is reasonably likely to cause harm (e.g., health misinformation, emergency misinformation, or fabricated public safety announcements).

2.2 Sexual Content Involving Minors or Exploitation

  • involves sexual content with minors, sexual exploitation, grooming, or any content that sexualizes a minor; or
  • shames, humiliates, bullies, or celebrates the suffering of minors, or otherwise targets minors with graphic violence, obscenity, or mature themes.

2.3 Extreme Violence and Incitement

• depicts or promotes gratuitous or excessively violent content, including content intended to incite, organize, promote, or facilitate violence or criminal activities.

2.4 Privacy, Publicity, and Personal Data Violations

  • violates the privacy, publicity, or data protection rights of others, including by disclosing personal data without authorization, or by creating or distributing content intended to identify, dox, harass, or intimidate individuals;
  • uses an individual's voice, likeness, or personal data without a lawful basis or required permissions.

2.5 Intellectual Property Infringement

  • infringes or misappropriates intellectual property rights, including copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, or other proprietary rights; or
  • attempts to bypass or remove rights management information or proprietary notices.

3. Voice, Likeness, and Consent Requirements

Because the Services can generate voice-based Outputs and voice models, additional rules apply:

3.1 Consent and Authorization

You may only submit Inputs or generate Outputs involving a person's voice or likeness if you have obtained all necessary rights, permissions, and consents (or other lawful basis) to do so, including for any recording, upload, modeling, generation, and any downstream use or distribution.

3.2 Impersonation and Misleading Voice Use

You may not use the Services to impersonate any person or entity, or to generate or distribute Outputs that mislead others about identity, authorship, affiliation, endorsement, or origin.

3.3 Sensitive or High-Risk Voice Use

You may not upload, generate, or distribute audio or other content using the voice or likeness of:

  • a deceased person,
  • a political candidate or public office holder,
  • or any identifiable individual,

unless you have that person's express authorization or another lawful basis, and your use complies with applicable law and this AUP.

3.4 No Deceptive or Harmful Deepfakes

You may not use the Services to generate voice or audio intended to deceive, defraud, harm, or manipulate others, including voice-based scams, false emergency calls, fake approvals, fake admissions, or fabricated evidence.

4. Political and Civic Integrity Restrictions

You may not use the Services to create or distribute content intended to interfere with democratic processes. This includes content that is intended to mislead voters about the time, place, manner, or eligibility requirements for voting or otherwise suppress or manipulate civic participation.

5. Spam, Advertising, and Unauthorized Commercial Activity

Unless expressly permitted by your subscription tier or a separate written agreement with Sonolabs, you may not use the Services to:

  • send or facilitate unsolicited or unauthorized advertising, spam, junk mail, chain letters, or bulk communications;
  • operate contests, sweepstakes, pyramid schemes, or similar commercial promotions without Sonolabs' prior written consent; or
  • use the Services primarily for commercial advertising or solicitation.

6. Security, Integrity, and Platform Abuse

You may not, directly or indirectly:

  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Services, other user accounts, or Sonolabs' systems or networks;
  • probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any system or network connected to the Services;
  • interfere with, disrupt, disable, overburden, or degrade the Services or any user's access to the Services;
  • circumvent, remove, alter, deactivate, or otherwise bypass any technological measures, safeguards, or content protections used by the Services;
  • introduce viruses, trojan horses, worms, logic bombs, or other malicious or technologically harmful materials;
  • scrape, crawl, mine, or extract data from the Services by automated or manual means except where expressly permitted by Sonolabs (including via authorized APIs);
  • attempt to evade, bypass, or circumvent any content moderation, safety features, usage limits, or enforcement mechanisms implemented by Sonolabs.

7. Reverse Engineering and Competitive Use

You may not:

  • reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, decode, or attempt to derive the source code, underlying ideas, algorithms, models, or system architecture of the Services;
  • use bots, automation tools, hacks, mods, or unauthorized third-party software designed to modify, interfere with, or access the Services;
  • use the Services or any Outputs to research, develop, train, test, or improve any products, services, or models that compete with Sonolabs; or
  • access or use the Services through unauthorized interfaces or access points.

8. Reporting Violations

If you believe content or conduct violates this AUP, you may report it to support@sonolabs.ai. Please include as much detail as possible (e.g., user handle, URLs, timestamps, and a description of the issue).

9. Enforcement

Sonolabs may investigate suspected violations of this AUP and may take any action it deems appropriate, including removing content, restricting functionality, suspending access, terminating accounts, or reporting to law enforcement, where permitted by law and consistent with the Terms. Sonolabs may also preserve or disclose information or content where we believe doing so is necessary to comply with legal obligations, enforce the Terms or this AUP, protect the safety or rights of Sonolabs or others, or prevent fraud or abuse.

10. Updates to This AUP

We may update this AUP from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Revised" date above. Material changes may be communicated by reasonable means, such as email or a notice on the Website. Your continued access to or use of the Services after the effective date of an updated AUP constitutes your acceptance of the updated AUP.
